These colorful rhythm sticks would be a great addition
to any child's toy box! A variation of a traditional
guiro, one stick is fluted and the other is smooth,
giving kids the opportunity to make a wide variety of
sounds.
To play the rhythm sticks, simply hold one in each
hand. Then, hold the fluted stick still while scraping
the smooth stick against it. For a faster or lounder
sound, move your hands in opposite directions while
holding the sticks. The sky is the limit! While
playing with these sticks, kids can learn the difference
between loud and soft, fast and slow, or even left and
right!
Kids can also tap out rhythms by hitting the
two sticks together.
